Fun Science 2024 Division C (High School) – 2 Airplane FULL KIT

Designed to meet 2024 FLIGHT specifications for Division C. All dimensions are maximized for exceptional performance. This kit utilizes carbon fiber rods for key components to reduce warpage issues, increase aerodynamic efficiency, increase strength but still allow building to minimum weight. The light balsa ribs and small parts are laser-cut. There are numerous adjustable components allowing for the ultimate in learning, experimentation, and flying success!

This kit will build two complete airplanes. It contains two Ikara 24cm propellers, a large instruction package and full-sized drawing to provide even novice builders with step-by-step construction instructions and a full aerodynamics lesson for insights on how to fly and achieve maximum results. All materials are carefully selected to yield enough strength and durability yet be built close to the minimum 8g weight requirements. Precision applicator tips for accurate CA application are included along with materials for fixtures to help hold components into alignment when building. It is packaged with ultra-light Mylar covering and includes material for a covering frame. Custom cut rubber in 3 different widths (17g each bag) is also included.

This year’s rules require you to have a box with specified maximum dimensions and your airplane must fit in that box. Instructions about boxes are included, but materials are not in the kit.

This airplane will require a winder (not in kit) to fly long duration flights (available on the TOOLS page - 15:1 ratio recommended).

Note to FLIGHT competitors

IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOUR BOX DOES NOT EXCEED THE MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE DIMENSIONS, however it must be very close to the maximum size for this airplane to fit into it. The airplane will not fit with the wings horizontal and must be tilted at an angle when inserting. It is your responsibility to either buy, find, or construct a box, verifying that no dimension exceeds the maximum and that your airplane fits inside of it. Many will use a 10 ream (5000 sheets) letter sized copy paper shipping box (may need the top edge slightly trimmed down).

Fun Science 2024 Division B (Middle School) – 2 Airplane FULL KIT

It also has all necessary carbon fiber rods and hardware bag (similar to the full kit, including all plastic pieces, and misc. small parts). It has a roll of Mylar and two Ikara 24 cm symmetrical propellers. Multiple partial kits may be packaged in the same box.

This PARTIAL KIT does NOT contain any instructions, drawings, rubber, building fixtures or covering frame. Do not order this unless you already have all these items from a FULL KIT.

TSA Flight EnduranceTSA – Flight Endurance

This kit is specifically made for high school 2024 TSA Flight Endurance Competition. It has key components made from Carbon Fiber to reduce warpage issues, increase aerodynamic efficiency, increase strength but still allow building near minimum weight of 7 grams. The ribs are laser-cut to build completed wings that are 45 cm with an 9 cm chord. Landing gear is included for ROG takeoffs. There are numerous adjustable components allowing for the ultimate in learning, experimentation, and flying success!

This kit will build two complete airplanes. It contains two Ikara 24 cm propellers that will need to be trimmed down to the 17 cm maximum allowable diameter and has all hardware to build top-notch competition planes. It includes a large instruction package and full-sized drawing to provide even novice builders with the step by step construction process and a full aerodynamics lesson for insights on how to fly and achieve maximum results. All materials are carefully selected to yield enough strength and durability yet be built close to the minimum weight requirements.
